Programme Planning & Governance

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) governance is a framework of organisational structures, business processes and standards that enables a business to meet its strategies and objectives.

We have worked with organisations to establish and operate ICT governance frameworks, including the following aspects:

  • Security Working Groups (SWGs), Technical Design Authority (TDA), Architecture Board, Transformation, Programme Management and Project Boards: Created TDA Terms of Reference (ToR), setup and chairing of meetings to maintain compliance with business and operational objectives and architecture framework
  • Development of business and architectural principles.
  • Documented ICT standards.
  • Created tailored version of TOGAF, incorporating use of Prince2, ITIL, Agile, DevOps and compliance with multiple ISO standards.
  • Developed design document templates, including Architecture, Solution, Build, Testing, Implementation, Service Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Operational Support.

Testimonials

Chris is a first class technical architect/leader. His ability to spot the possibilities of using Amazon Web Services for our secure hosting application and then lead the successful implementation of it, pioneered the way across our industry. In addition to infrastructure, he’s equally at home in agile software development, security, data and service management. An absolute pleasure to work with.
Jonathan Snowball, CIO, MTC
Chris is a very hardworking, knowledgeable and highly organised IT professional. He works easily with all levels of an organisation being well able to communicate with junior technical staff through to senior director level staff (both inside the delivery organisation and the client’s organisation). He is capable of working from a detailed low-level technical level up to a strategic level. Chris thoroughly understands the commercial aspects of a programme, delivering solutions to timescales and budgets. From a personal aspect, Chris has been invaluable and I would not hesitate in recommending him.
Dave Watson, Project Manager, Steria
I worked with Chris closely over a period of five years. During this time, he was always able to demonstrate a keen business focus, balancing competing requirements and delivering to them. Working on large transformational programmes, Chris was able to pro-actively identify and address issues, so they could be resolved without any impact to delivery. Chris has the ability to engage across the whole width and depth of a project, carrying forward business managers and technical teams with his enthusiasm and comprehensive knowledge.
Gordon Aitchison, Senior Technical Architect, Steria
Extremely intelligent, structured SME with the ability to lead and function incredibly well as part of a team. A highly respected individual whose willingness to innovate has created significant demand for his skills when developing new business. Strong market knowledge with an informed knowledge of current technologies, makes Chris a very valuable part of any team.
Lorraine Fife, Programme Director, Steria
With overall responsibility for the Data Centre and Case Management application hosting projects, I worked hand in hand with Chris to deliver both projects. We built a first-class team of dedicated professionals and produced results that we are very proud of. Chris has my highest recommendation; he is and will continue to be a true asset to any organisation.
Aron Wood, Senior Project Manager, Steria
I found Chris very reliable, sincere and focused who not only understands the technical aspects of the PCMS project, but also how the business is going to be impacted by what is being delivered. Chris has a strong technical infrastructure delivery background and can work at solution owner level meeting full delivery lifecycle commitments. He is well aware of commercial aspects of the project which is shown throughout his work on PCMS.
